Music Sessions

  • How do I start a Music session?

    • Under ‘Recommended for you’ on the main page, click on the “Music” button
    • Move the sliders to let us know how you’re feeling and what your energy levels are
    • Set your daily preferences for the music experience: you can change this every time you start a music session or choose to keep your existing preferences
    • When you click on ‘Save’, we will walk you through the process of setting up your device camera to enable mood recognition. (see “Why does Resonance Rx need access to my camera?” for more information)
    • Once you opt in or opt out of mood recognition, the music session will start automatically
  • How are my music playlists created?

Resonance Rx’s AI curation tool personalizes music for each session based on your mood, your music profile (genre and era preferences), your daily preferences (energy or intensity of music), and your facial expressions. The AI tool also uses your likes and dislikes to learn about your preferences.
  • I don’t like a song I’m listening to. Is there a way for me to skip it?

Yes, when you click on the dislike button on the playscreen it will skip that song for you. Please note that there is a limit of 6 skips per hour.
  • Why is there a limit of 6 skips per hour?

Resonance Rx's music feature is an internet radio product under a statutory music license in the United States. Copyright law prohibits us from allowing our users to skip more than 6 tracks per hour. Our AI quickly learns your preferences based on the songs you like or dislike, so you shouldn’t need to skip often. To get the best music experience, remember to set your music profile and daily preferences before or during your session. While waiting for the skip limits to reset, feel free to explore our meditations, podcasts, and memory game!
  • How can I change my genre/era preferences?

    • Yes, you can customize your era and genre preferences at any time
    • During the experience, click on ‘Music Profile’ to update your favorite eras and genres
    • You can also change these settings by clicking on your profile icon on the home screen and clicking on ‘Music Profile’
  • Why does Resonance Rx need access to my camera?

Resonance Rx uses your camera to detect your mood in order to better personalize your music experience! We’re committed to protecting your privacy and your video or any other identifiable data will not be sent to our servers. Using this feature is entirely optional.
  • Can I use Resonance Rx without mood recognition or giving access to my camera?

Yes, you can still use Resonance Rx if you don’t give us access to your camera. This will result in less personalized music experiences and you can always update your camera preferences through the profile settings.
  • The camera icon on the music playscreen keeps blinking red. What does this mean?

If the icon blinks red, then you will need to adjust your position to face the camera. If you’re using Resonance Rx on a mobile device or tablet, place your device on a stand or prop to ensure the camera is facing you. Once you’re in the optimal position, the icon will blink blue.
